Happy Father's Day

I know I'm a little behind, as Father's Day was this past Sunday...but better late than never right?!? We had a great time visiting with Dad, Papa, and Grampy. I wanted to share a couple of layouts I did for gifts, I really love the photos. They were taken at York's Wild Kingdom. I also have some photos from our visit as well but I'll save that for another time...as I really want to scrap them as well and don't want to be too overwhelming.

I know there was a time that I took for granted the people in my life that meant the most, and will suffer the consequences as a result. Fortunately though I've learned in that area and have vowed to never let that happen again. I'm grateful for a dad who's been there for me and who I love very much. I have a father-in-law that one could only dream of and who has been such a huge support. And last but not least, Jasmine and Alex have a dad that loves them with all his heart! Thank you Dad, Mike and Brian!! Happy Father's Day!

Horseback Adventures!

Alex began horseback riding on May 29th and loves it. She goes to the barn and volunteers from 8-12:30 and then rides after lunch on Saturdays. This was her first time on the horse. She had to do exercises on the horse that would help with her balance and posture.
She went back this week and rode by herself and had so much fun!

Where did spring go?

Softball season is already come to an end. I don't know where the time has gone! They had a good season! The last game, Jasmine hit the only ball that brought runners in!! It was amazing to see their progress over the season! Great job girls!

The Beach

I went to the beach the other day with my best friend and her boys, we had a blast! I flew a kite, which I hadn't done in quite some time. It was so much fun, even if there wasn't a lot of wind and it didn't stay up in the air that long. I felt like a kid again!! We found two star fish and many shells and rocks. The water was so cold it made my feet ache, but felt refreshing at the same time.
The beach is a place that I've gone to during many wonderful, special times, and some of the most heart-wrenching times. Each time I am there I learn something new and this time is no different. As I looked out over the ocean and at the birds and starfish I was in awe of just how amazing God's creation really is.
I also realized how special friendships are and how great it is to have friends who stick by you through tough times and celebrate the good times!!

Softball has begun

Jasmine began her softball season. She plays outfield this year and really enjoys it.
I went to her game on Monday and of course took as many pictures as possible. Today I sat and scrapped three pages, but not until I bought a new kit!!! "Softball princess", what better name for a kit than that!!!!
I was so proud watching her play. She scored a run her first time up to bat! As a mom, there is no better a feeling than to watch your child be a part of a team and watch the interactions between the players. I have to say, the coaches are saints to put up with that many Jr. High girls all in one spot at the same time!!
I can't wait to see her as she progresses and grows through out the season! Awesome job girls!

Mother's Day

The last two posts have been about my girls and just how blessed I am. This post just reiterates that same point. Mother's Day was a wonderful day. Alex woke me up with breakfast in bed and a speech she had prepared, it was enough to bring tears to my eyes.
The girls and I went to church in the morning and then went to visit my mom for a while. After, we went to South Portland and spent the afternoon shopping. Toward the end of the day we stopped by and spent some time with Mimi and then back home.
Jasmine made cupcakes by herself and decorated each one to look like the person she was giving them to for mother's day. She did such a good job, she even cleaned up after she was done.
Alex made me a frog out of clay and painted it. They are gifts more precious than money could ever buy, they were handmade with love by the girls.

Alexandria Diane

Alex, my youngest daughter, is 10 years old and in 4th grade at Waterboro Elementary. Like Jasmine, I look at the time and wonder where it could possibly have gone. Just yesterday she was this little toddler running around with tight curls and a smile that could melt any heart. While the smile is still heart-melting the curls have disappeared as has that little toddler. Now she's a girl who is fast maturing into a young lady.
Alex loves animals, drawing and soccer. This season she will be doing cheerleading, something she is very anxious to try.
I love you Alex! I am so blessed and Thank God everyday for you!! He gave me a wonderful, beautiful gift when he gave me you!

Jasmine Elizabeth

This post is going to be dedicated to, and all about, Jasmine my oldest daughter.
Jasmine is 13 years old and in 7th grade at Massabesic Middle School. A teenager, man, where did the time go?
I think often about that little girl carrying around her "bun bun" by the ears and dragging it across the floor, and wish those times were still here. Then look at today and who you have become and treasure every moment we have as you enter this next phase of your life and pray I can be the best mom God will allow me to be.
Jasmine loves sports, she plays softball and soccer. She loves photography, music, woodworking with her Papa, and (more recently) facebook.
I love you Jasmine!! I am so blessed and Thank God everyday for giving me such a wonderful daughter!!

A little about my family!

I'm a mom to 2 beautiful daughters, Jasmine age 13 and Alexandria age 10. We enjoy fishing, bike-riding, camping, watching movies, doing "girl" stuff and just plain having fun!! I also love watching them play sports, whenever possible.
I work for an agency doing in home support. It has got to be the best job in the world!
I enjoy digital scrapbooking, it's become my addiction! Scrapbooking gives me a way to preserve precious memories, while at the same time helping me unwind from the daily stresses of life. I've started this blog as a way to journal the precious moments our life.
These pictures were taken at Fort Williams Park Cape Elizabeth. We spent the day enjoying the sun and walking by the ocean.
